Fell of the face of the planet...?

Oh goodness...how I've fallen off the face of the planet. Truth is I've been battling my own health issues and could probably benefit greatly from NAET myself, if we could afford it. Right now, none of us can afford NAET, but my kiddos have benefited so much from it that as soon as we start bringing in more funds we will start again. Colds are shorter, eczema is rarely an issue and Jackson continues to eat more and more foods, except any kind of powdered cheese or peanuts. He's still pretty picky but trying new things quite often. Presley is doing great and seems to be less reactive than Jackson. They are going for their 3 and 4 year old appointments next week so I am going to have their RAST numbers check, just out of curiosity more than reliability. We really need to go back to NAET for them, even writing this makes me realize how much they benefited from NAET and the year was so much healthier for both of them. Less antibiotics, less nebulizer....more foods.

I am still on the journey to health and have pretty much narrowed down my issues to Estrogen Dominance....they are still ruling out autoimmune disorders too. I am not eating wheat, dairy and am soon giving up sugar...(that will be hard but I've done it before)...I am researching eating for my blood type (0 +) and finding out interesting information..taking matters in my own hands pretty much and praying for provision so we can all do NAET. Here are some recent pics of the growing/healthy kiddos. I love reading your blogs and hearing all of your successes with NAET!

Easter "Eggs!"

Happy Easter. I am so thankful for Easter and the hope that it gives us. If I didn't have the hope of God and the fact that He is the "Great Physician" for my family, I think I would have put my kids in a bubble years ago and fed them rice and water ONLY. God has been so faithful to us on this journey with food allergies and NAET and utlimately I trust Him for healing above anything else.

I updated the pictures on the side of the blog .....my little babies are GROWING so big and so well. Jackson is in the 95% for his weight and he is almost "as tall as Daddy"....(well, not really, but he thinks so!)

I realized today in the season of lots of "eggs"..that Jackson is still not clear for raw eggs. They both do fine with things that have egg baked into them, but we will have to do NAET for egg again with Jackson. The kids were eating some carrots with ranch dressing and Jackson got rashy and a few hives and itchy.....he's had other brands of ranch, but this one had a lot of egg ingredients....Presley did fine which makes me happy since she had RAST tested positive for egg and had a reaction to macaroni salad...so I think her NAET treatment for egg worked the first time. She is a big fan of all ranch dressings in town!

I was also worried and avoiding dyeing Easter eggs and didn't even bring it up to the kids this year....but got my answer when I picked them up from preschool and they both had a basket of dyed eggs that were hard boiled and oh so lovely....they didn't react to that activity (thank goodness) and I'm glad I didn't know about it :) SO, we dyed some more today with my sister and niece (YES, even after he reacted to the dressing today, I was still in the mood for egg dyeing activities). I've learned to worry less and try to pray more and be thankful for the little itchy reactions.....vs. the scary anaphylatic ones.

My health is improving, thank the Lord, so we will continue on the NAET journey later this month.

"Rolling Stones!"

We are still here, I promise!!!!! Mommy has been down and out with a kidney stone that finally made it's exit a few days ago. It's so NICE to feel WELL!!!! I had to cancel our NAET appointments and try to get through each day, so now we will continue on the kids' journeys!

The kiddos are doing okay..there are so many blooommmmiingggg trees, grass, pollen...floating around in the wind....so they are a little itchy and Presley is having a hard time beating a sinus infection...I've been in awe of Jackson's health while a lot of us around him have had the seasonal coughs and sneezes, thank you NAET!

Jackson's faith....

Jackson has so much faith in his NAET treatments. We started again today after taking a financial hiatus from NAET since October. He and Presley were so excited to go see "Dr. Kathleen" and remembered everything about our visits from the past. They were very compliant little patients and it always gives me peace knowing how happy they are to be there. I had peace too, being there, as it reminded me of how far we have come. Both of my eczema-prone kids have been eczema FREE since a few months after starting NAET and Jackson has been enjoying his life with dairy products...just recently he started asking for cheese sandwiches everyday in his lunch box.

Although we've come a long way, we still have a "journey" ahead of us. Jackson has been really "reacting" to the change in the seasons...all the crazy rain we got during the end of January and now the sunshine is causing everything to bloom around our house and his school. He has been very itchy and also getting a rash on his chin every time he eats or drinks...kind of strange..it disappears after a few minutes, but it was very concerning to me....

I talked to Dr. Kathleen today and she said the change of the seasons is making his system very sensitive, hence all the minor reactions and itchy eyes, ect. when he's outside. I, being anxious to get this taken care of, put a glass of water in the front and backyard yesterday, and brought it in for her to do a NAET treatment with. After doing the laser and the pressure points, Jackson jumped off the stool, and said, "Well, I'm better now, no more itching!" His confidence is so great and I know that he truly believes in NAET even though he doesn't know what going to Dr. Kathleen is about...today we played outside, went to the park, ate lots of food and he was rashy free.....tonight in the bath he said, "I'm better today, no rash on my chin and no scratchies...better go back to Dr. Kafaleen (how he says it) again!" Presley was treated too for the "front and backyard" so hopefully that will strengthen her defenses as well. Glad to be back doing NAET, better give up some trips to Starbucks to afford it this month, well worth the sacrifice!

Orphan "Annie"

This is a picture of our new puppy, "Annie". I was so nervous bringing another dog into our house. Not nervous for the biting and chewing and making a mess....but for one or both of the kids being allergic to her. They have both tested positive for dogs, and usually are reactive to dogs at other houses we visit, especially Presley. They both do fine with our own two Labs after starting NAET, but have had reactions to other animals numerous times. So, my plan was to do NAET for the new puppy if we needed to and if they were still allergic to her, she had a back-up home. But as you can see from the pictures below, Annie is now part of our family with no reactions. She can kiss them and chew on them (hee, hee) with no problems. I still had Dr. Kathleen do a NAET treatment for what is in our house and outside of our house today and I'm sure that included a little bit of Annie as well.

Thank you so much for your support and emails....It's been busy lately here at the Roth house and although the cold/flu season has been upon us I must say it has not been upon "us" :) The kids have been super healthy this season and I know it has to do with NAET and their ear tubes and Jack's eviction of his adenoids. They have been growing and are really becoming such little people. I, on the other hand, have been battling health issues (kidney stone, ovarian cysts) and my ongoing IBS/tummy issues...BUT I think I have solved the mystery of "sick mommy"...I stopped eating gluten and I feel 90% better. I think I need NAET too, I am realizing how much food is affecting me. My mom stopped eating gluten as well and her arthritis that has been making her suffer for over a year is almost gone! AMAZING! I say if you are having any inflammation problems with your tummy or your bones, joints, ect...try eating gluten free! Maybe I should start a new blog about my "journey"...nope, don't have time for that! I am going to start the kids back on NAET soon...it's been tough financially, but I know I need to keep going and especially help Presley be protected against more foods because she is my eater!!! Jackson is branching out and trying new foods, but no fruits or veggies yet! It's amazing how tall that boy is with what he eats..chicken nuggets, graham crackers, quesadillas, PIZZA, chips, crackers, juice and my secret vitamin drops....the boy will not eat a piece of fruit or a vegetable, he says, "No thanks!" or "Umm..not today"....Presley on the other hand always hijacks my food at any opportunity....oh toddlers....Anyway, just wanted to stop in. I am happy hearing from so many of you lately who are on the NAET journey or thinking about it...we have to support each other on this "journey!"..Blessings to you.

Time flies...

...when you are having fun...where in the world did October go?? We were busy getting tubes and losing adenoids and trying to get my health figured out as well...so now we are back on track, trying to help Presley get over a cough she's had for about a month and a half, and getting ready for the holidays....

No flu shot or H1N1 shot as there are none in our city right now....it just might be too late anyway.....??

Going back to the NAET practioner soon (had to take a break to save some money).

Jackson's doing great, feeling well, eating well, eating dairy like a champ (the boy LOVES PIZZA).

Thinking about baby #3....but seriously, Jackson and Presley's allergies really make me worry about bringing another little allergic person into the world.....although with NAET treatments I do have some hope and know that we have something to turn to.

Super excited for the holidays!

Whew...

Whew...we got through the little ones surgeries and everything went great. MUCH better than I had expected, so that is always a good thing. Presley's ear tubes surgery was quick and she was bouncing off the walls and being her silly self 1 hour after surgery. She seems so much happier and seems to generally "feel" better! I'm so glad we did this for my little girl. I am thinking down the road her adenoids might have to be taken out too.....my little stuffy kiddos.

Jackson did amazing with getting ear tubes and losing his adenoids....he was so brave and did so well. The recovery was good too, he stayed home with me for 4 days and we watched a lot of movies, did some crafts, went to a pumpkin patch. His face is actually different which was something my husband noticed right away. The puffiness under his eyes is gone...and he just looks a little different. The ENT said his adenoids were really, really big. He is breathing out of his little cute nose and night, he doesn't seem as sniffly, his voice and speech are clearer and he seems like he "feels" better too! Kids are so tough. He didn't even take pain medication or complain.

They both had hearing tests, and the doctor let me look in their ears and see the tubes. We were blessed to find such a great doctor. The kids were actually excited to go see him a week after their surgeries.

Thank you for your many prayers, emails, calls and support. I am praying for a healthier winter and fall without so many trips to the doctor to "check their ears"!!!

I think we are going to get the H1N1 vaccine for both kids as soon as our doctor gets it in and we check for egg allergy sensitivity next week at the allergist. With their tendency to get chest congestion in the winter, I am very concerned. Their pediatrician said she wants them to get it. We are going to try the regular flu shot next week (we have to get it in the allergist office because of their egg allergies). They have both been cleared with NAET for eggs, but of course I am still a little worried.

Goodbye adenoids and hello tubes!

Tomorrow both the kiddos go in for surgery (if they can stay healthy for the next 12 hours). Jackson is getting his adenoids out and tubes in both ears, and Presley is just going to get tubes (for now). I am a nervous wreck and praying they do well, I think mommy and daddy need prayer too! So, I'll update how they are doing and we are hoping we are going to have a healthier winter this year after going through these surgeries. YIKES!

Air...Wind...Water....

This week I took Jackson to NAET even though it was Presley's turn. He's had an endless cough (the kind I call the chokey cough).....I have even had to have him on the nebulizer a few times which makes me feel anxious about the flu season ahead. I think it was really the change of weather that the crazy WINDS brought last week that started the coughing spells. I decided to have Dr. Kathleen treat him for whatever is in the air since his cough has not turned into an ear infection or a fever, ect. It must just be allergy. I put a bottle of water outside in the front and backyard and let it collect the particles in the air. We brought our "water" to Dr. Kathleen and she created a vial of it for Jackson to be treated with. He is so funny at the treatments...he's just such a little "model patient." He said, "we have to go to the doctor and then I'll feel better!" after she was done doing the acupressure with the laser he popped off the chair and exclaimed, "I'M BETTER!" Sometimes I think he knows a lot more about NAET than we do. He did seem to cough less the next day and his little nose was less runny. We'll see how he does today. We do go to a new ENT for Presley's ear infections and Jackson's "always sounding stuff" adenoid issues this week. I'll keep you "posted"

As the season's change....

Well, it's finally a little cooler today here in Southern California..it's been nearly 100 degrees for a whole week, again! Today it's cloudy and cool...love it! Although as the seasons do change I know we are now in the flu/cold season and so I thought I would share what our NAET practitioner discussed with me about the flu shot and the swine vaccine.

First things first, the flu shot. I have always been a fan of the flu shot for myself and didn't hesitate to have Jackson and Presley get it when they were 6 months old. They had no reaction to the shot, nor did I expect them too. This was before we knew of all of their allergies, especially to egg. That being said we have not had them get the shot the last 2 years in fear of a reaction because it is egg based and both of their RAST numbers for egg are really high. Last year our allergist suggested we do the shots in his office administering it slowly, ect...but I didn't do it. I was too afraid since this was around the same time Jackson had his first Epi Pen emergency and trip to the ER. I didn't want to take any chances. Fast forward to this year....I talked all of this over with our NAET doctor and she said she could test them and treat them so that they will have a smaller chance of reacting, but still agreed we should do the flu shot in the allergist's office. Have I made the appointment? No. Will I? I think I feel a little more confident knowing that they have made huge leaps and bounds with NAET and their allergies this year. Dr. Kathleen will be getting the "flu shot" vial soon and we will do the NAET treatment first. I'm still a little nervous.

On to the "Swine Flu".....now I am not sure if the media is causing a lot of hype about this and if the pharmaceutical companies are happy to make some more money.....(the conspiracy theorist in me cries out)....but I am not sure I feel comfortable giving my kids this new vaccine. I would love any feedback!!! We are going to treat them for the Swine Flu with NAET and maybe that's as far as I will go. I did talk to our pediatrician and she said they weren't sure when they were going to start getting the vaccine.....it's just kinda shady.

Enough about all that....here's a little snapshot of Jackson eating a cupcake at a birthday party. This was something I had dreamed of when we first started NAET. My mom was with us and we both were talking about how great it is to know he can be a happy participant at birthday parties now (although in this picture he isn't digging the Elmo cupcake too much) He can eat treats, he's just not really that interested after the frosting is gone ....God is good!

Well, off to enjoy my Starbucks before the sun pops through!

GOD IS GOOD!!! ALL THE TIME!

Hello faithful blog friends. I am finally able to write down the good stuff going on with the NAET journey we are on with Jackson and now Presley! I've been dealing with a kidney stone and other health stuff, so all of the good days have been focused on catching up and being a mommy that can have fun and get off the couch! God is good, and healing is happening all over our house, so I am feeling really great about that!

Jackson is doing pretty well, I still wish he would eat some more variety of foods, but overall he is growing and staying healthy. He has still been doing great and enjoying pizza, cheese and other dairy products without any reaction and it's given me so much peace of mind. We can go to our friend's houses for dinner and order pizza or eat ice cream. He's eating any snack he wants to at school with all of his little cutie pie friends. He's not as isolated anymore which makes me feel like it's doing a lot for his little heart and spirit as well as his body. God is Good! He's definitely less itchy and the eczema is limited to behind his knees. He did REALLY WELL with the fires and the SMOKE, SMOKE, SMOKE, that even filled our house with the windows closed. A lot of my friends who have kids with asthma had a hard time with all the smoke, but Jackson did not need the nebulizer and that surprised me. I was coughing up a storm! I think the NAET has really strengthened his little immune system and we may not have a winter season on the nebulizer at all. PRAYING!!!!!!

Presley, the newcomer to doing NAET, has had a few treatments and I am happy to say she does not get grumpy with them like Jackson does. She seems happier!!! She is less rashy already and I have to say that I think it's already helping her endless ear infections. She has had a constant ear infection (or two) for a few months and since we have done NAET, she hasn't had a fever or a constant runny nose. I'm so happy we've been able to start this with her.

The hard part of having them both doing NAET is the financial side of it. It's going to slow down Jackson's progress because I have to take turns taking them in every week. I can't afford both of them going each week! I really do want to strengthen their immune systems before the crazy cold and flu season begins.

Have I mentioned that GOD IS GOOD!!!! I must! I was talking to another mom this weekend about her child who has some health/allergy issues. I was talking about NAET and the success we have had. I stopped and realized that it is really God who is taking us on this journey and that He is healing my kids and giving us some very needed peace and strength to keep going and seek out ways to get them well. I'm so thankful we found NAET and our much loved practioner, but I am more thankful that God is taking care of my family.

Oh and, Grandma (my mom) has started going to acupuncture for her arthritis in her foot and for stress relief. She's doing really well with it. God is good! I am thinking when the kids are a little stronger I will start to go for my various issues. It's a family affair!

Still in the journey, I promise...

Gosh, life can get so busy.....working, playing, schooling, playing, swimming, going to church, family...it's all good things!!!

We are still in the NAET journey with Jackson and now Presley as well. Jackson is eating a lot more foods and is growing and learning so much! We treated him a second time for eggs since he still seemed a little reactive to raw eggs. He got grumpy and tired after the treatment (so that's how I know it works with him). He's been eating a lot of products with dairy and I have let my guard down a little which scares me at times for sure......but overall, the allergy anxiety has been able to subside a little and I am just telling people he is allergic to eggs, soy and peanuts. I still STARE at him when he eats something new, waiting for the first hive or itch or watery eye. Most of the time, nothing appears and we move on. He's still reacting to my mom's dogs so we'll have to bring in a sample of their saliva and hair and have him treated with NAET. It will be interesting to see how the treatments are going once we get to the sugar and citrus mixes. He is an OJ addict, but we can avoid it for 25 hours.

Presley, my two year old girly girl, started NAET last weekend. She did great with the muscle testing and laser treatment. She tested allergic (0r sensitive) to egg, calcium, vitamin B and vitamin C so far. I'm not surprised as her little runny nose and ENDLESS ear infections have been upon us for months now. My usually clear girl has been more scratchy and she's just off.....Dr. Kathleen, the NAET practitioner thinks that her ear infections are due to an allergy and although we are still going to see the ENT in a few weeks, we will try to clear her of some allergens to help strengthen her immune system . We talked a lot about antibiotics and the many Presley has had to take, especially this past year. Dr. Kathleen feels that the more antibiotics a child takes, the weaker their immune system gets...it makes sense. The body is not learning how to fight things off on it's own, medicine, ect.....so we are going to continue NAET and see how it will help the little Presley girl.

Going well....

No appointments lately due to our busy schedule, but things are going very well with Jackson. He's eating a lot more dairy and enjoying the CUPCAKES at school and birthday parties (something I hoped for from day one!). He's eating a lot of pizza, pancakes, and the snacks at school which he used to be denied of. It makes us so relieved to go out to dinner and be able to relax knowing he'll be okay with more things on the menu. He is so excited at preschool to eat snacks and celebrate his friends. We now go to birthday parties and I am not a nervous wreck. It's been a huge blessing!

It almost seems as if his mind now knows that the food is safe for him. He used to be super picky and now he's asking for "bites" of new foods and trying things that he never would have because of the texture. I am anxious to continue NAET and see more progress.

Hopefully we'll get in this weekend to do more treatments!

Slacking...

I'm so sorry there have not been any posts lately on Jackson's progress with NAET. I have started back to work full-time and with the 4th, ect. we have not had the chance to go back and get another treatment. He's doing great, still eating a good amount of dairy products and has been in good spirits as we've been swimming, BBQ-ing, and having a good but HOT summer. I am going to schedule a NAET appointment for this Saturday and try to have her treat him for latex. I have noticed that when he plays with balloons or goes into a Bounce House, he seems to get itchy.....We did have a bad reaction to raw egg a few weekends ago, he got some good size hives and a little swelling on his face.....he was helping my friend bake some cupcakes and touched the eggs....he can still eat things with egg baked into them, but I think he needs some more treatments for egg. I'll update on Saturday. Thanks for your ongoing support! I'm still hopeful!

3 years old and.....

35 pounds....(80th percentile for weight)

We were so happy to hear how our sweet boy is growing. I knew he felt a lot heavier lately and longer too. His "long jammies" have not been dragging on the ground and it's been harder to lift him or turn him upside down for a tickle session.....My husband thinks he's grown so much from all the cheese :).

Our pediatrician is very happy with his progress and she was happy to hear that he seems to be handling dairy okay. I'm not planning on a trip to the allergist anytime soon. I am going to start NAET with our daughter Presley soon!

Chuck E. Cheese

We went to Chuck E. Cheese for Jackson's birthday dinner and I left some of the cheese on his pizza for the first time. He did GREAT and I was super nervous and staring at him and following him around watching to make sure he didn't start itching and get a rash....speaking of rashes, my daughter Presley left the same dinner with a random rash on her torso. I think it's time to start NAET with my little princess! My little boy is 3!!!! I am hoping this next year of his journey will be full of healing and laughter! You should have seen him throwing the "skee-ball" like a baseball.....so fun!

Guess who.....

....was super cranky this morning......and slept really hard last night....BUT got to put CHEESE in his lunch for preschool today!!!! HOORAY! He was so excited to show his teacher his lunch! I am just hoping he can get through the post-NAET grouchy-ness for his birthday tomorrow!

NAET appointment for Vitamin C

Phew...well it's been awhile since I've posted and partly that is because we've been busy celebrating Jackson's 3rd birthday!!! (and his birthday isn't until the 19th)....but hey it's his birthday week right? I didn't give him regular cupcakes or a birthday cake...I made a great recipe called "Crazy Cake" into cupcakes. The recipe does not have any eggs or milk in it. I just didn't want to have any surprising reactions at his birthday party. I told Dr. Kathleen that today at our appointment and she said she thinks I could have done the regular cupcakes, but understands my fears. She's a mom too!

We have spread out our NAET appointments due to finances and also because I wanted to see if his behavior, reactions, ect. would change. THEY DID! I got my sweet, funny, happy, energetic, loving, polite and crazy boy back for two weeks!!! Needless to say, I think the NAET treatments do take a lot of energy out of him and he along with a lot of other "NAET kids" I have heard about is having some reaction behavior wise to the treatments. Last appointment we treated him again for whey and a cheese mix and milk mix. He didn't have any physical rashes or any fever from that treatment and his behavior was not too bad and became better over a short period of time.

Today we tested to see if all that had cleared and it was good news. Our practitioner said that he is now clear for milk, calcium, cheese mix, milk mix, eggs and whey. It's really hard to believe, except for the fact that we have been giving him string cheese everyday and he has had no reaction to it. No rashes, no tummy aches, no strange stools (sorry).....we started with one bite a day for a week and then gradually moved up to more. Sometimes he has two pieces in one day now and he loves it. Dr. Kathleen really wants us to give him some eggs slowly like we did with the cheese, I just don't know if my picky boy will eat an egg. He has had things with eggs baked into them.....we'll have to think, pray and decide about this. We go for his 3 year old pediatrician's appointment next week and I am excited to share the news with our doctor. She's been supportive about NAET. We have not seen our allergist since November and I am not planning on making an appointment anytime soon.

Today she treated him for Vitamin C. Now you should know that my boy lives on orange juice, but he is not allergic to Vitamin C. He tested positive with the NAET muscle testing and the practitioner said it might just be that he is sensitive to it and his body may need help absorbing it. So, it will be interesting to see if we notice anything different the next two weeks until we go again. He didn't get a fever or any reactions today....so we'll see how he is tomorrow.

It's been really great to have "met" some of you who read this blog through your emails and your own stories as well. I have even made a "NAET buddy" who after reading this blog started NAET for her son and it's going really well. I am praying for all of you as I know how it is to be a mom of a child with the mystery of allergies. I hope this continues to be a blessing for Jackson and everyone else who is sharing on his journey.
